Spring has arrived and you know what that means?! It means time to give your car some love! Let’s admit it. You probably haven’t been doing the best job of that during the winter months. So, now that spring has officially arrived, it’s time to make sure you vehicle is ready for the fun it’s about to get into now that the weather is turning warmer. Here are our suggestions for making sure your car looks its best for the glorious springtime weather.

Spring Cleaning Time: Spring cleaning. It isn’t just for your house. It’s also for your car. And trust us…your car probably needs it desperately. So, head out and wash as and wax your vehicle because truthful, it’s one of the most important things you should do now that winter is over. Debris and grime that’s built up on your car can not only affect the paint, but it can also impact your vehicle’s finish. In addition, you want to make sure you clean the inside of your car too. Take the floor mats out and give them a good shaking, vacuum the floor and all those tiny crevices and use upholstery cleaner for stains. You should also clear out and trash you’ve collected, take any winter apparel into the house, and dust off the dash and the console. Let’s be honest, you’ve been putting this off for way too long.

Check your Air Conditioner: With spring comes warmer temps, of course, but what that also means is that your car can and will get hot very quickly. There’s nothing worse than a warm front coming in and you go to turn on the A/C and it’s blowing out hot air. Make sure that your car is ready for the first warm days of the season by testing the air conditioning system by turning on your A/C at the highest speeds and making sure everything is blowing out cool. If something doesn’t seem right, you’re going to want to make sure to have that fixed before it REALLY starts to get hot. (Hello…it’s Florida….we all know it’s going to soon become blistering hot.)

Give Your Windshield Wipers an Inspection: We all know with the warmer months, the daily rains are coming, so make sure to check to see if your wiper blades are cracking or have any wear. If they do, replace them. You should also replace your wipers if you notice any streaking making it difficult to see out of your windshield when it does start raining. Streaking is just asking for trouble.

Need to give your car a good spring cleaning or once over now that the weather has turned warmer? Schedule an appointment at Courtesy Toyota of Brandon today.
